About us:
First, we are now St. Louis Scott Gallagher. Scott Gallagher (#17 boys club in the country) has joined St. Louis Soccer Club (#17 ranked Girls club in the country rated by Soccer America Magazine), Missouri Premier, an exciting girls club based in St. Louis and Metro United, the most successful and prominent club in Southern Illinois soccer history have combined to form what is one of the top clubs in the Nation. With both Scott Gallagher and Metro United having the honor of being a United States Soccer Federation Academy, this is without a doubt the top club within 250 miles! PLUS, when Major League Soccer announces St. Louis as it's 17th team, WE WILL BE A PART OF IT. The new stadium and Youth soccer complex will include 8-12 new turf fields that all Metro United - St. Louis Scott Gallagher players will utilize. The stadium and youth complex will be in COLLINSVILLE, Illinois and this will be one of the best set-ups in the country and our kids will be major benefactors!
St. Louis Scott Gallagher is a Nike Premier club. This makes us one of only 30 soccer clubs in the entire country to have this honor! Metro United was started in 1993 with 4 teams and has grown to almost 50 in 2008. The new St. Louis Scott Gallagher will have 200+ teams!
We pride ourselves on player development and we have the backing of the Federation to prove our process works. The United States Soccer Federation has taken the guess-work away for the parents of our area by announcing that they want us to train players for the better development of our country!!!!
Metro United players dominate the Southern Illinois soccer scene every year, collecting awards for being All American, All Region, All State, All Area and All Conference at the High School and College levels. The club is driven by Program Director Dale Schilly, who is on the United States Soccer Federation under 14 Boys National Staff. Dale is the ONLY coach in the St. Louis Metropolitan Region in this USSF position. Our younger players will be taught the techniques and skills necessary to play the game at the highest levels in the future. As they get older, tactics will be introduced to help develop well rounded players for College and the Pro's.
